International Citizenship Education Research: An annotated bibliography of research using the IEA ICCS and IEA CIVED datasets

Abstract

Analysis of data form the 1999 Civic Education Study and the 2009 International Civic and Citizenship Study provide an invaluable resource for citizenship scholars and educators. This work strives to create visibility of the many rigorous studies that utilized these datasets. To accomplish this goal we conducted an exhaustive search of research using large-scale international datasets and summarized each within an annotated bibliography. Thus, this work provides a valuable resource for anyone interested understanding connections between education and youth civic engagement.
